I think it’s safe to say that the Washington Nationals are by far and away the worst franchise in baseball right now.
They’ve had a enormous uniform FAIL, no one watches them on TV or at their stadium, they can’t spell Roosevelt, and that stupid Screech the eagle mascot is just embarrassing.
Not to mention that the team can’t perform ON the field either, where the Nats are currently a Major-League worst 52-100. That’s their second consecutive 100-Loss season. Ugh.
On that note, their fans seem to be taking it in stride.
Here’s a Jersey some Nats fan (I think?) made before the 2008 season which looks like it will be good for years to come.

Simply awesome and well-played. Self-deprecating jerseys always rule.
The only way it could be better is if it said NATINALS across the front.
“Nationals Hundred Losses” Jersey Rating
- Cleverness: 9
- Originality: 9

I think that’s the highest score since the bodypainted Phillies fan (NSFW).
Found the Jersey in a thread over on FARK.

This week’s Jersey of the Week comes to us from last October, when the Milwaukee Brewers were in the midst of their first playoff appearance in 26 seasons.
I wish I had seen this shirt when it was a bit more relevant … say last October … but it’s just awesome. It deserves to be recognized as a belated JotW.
Now, after finally making the playoffs after a 26 year postseason absence, Brewers fans were finally feeling some relief. So much so that some of them peed their pants.
But others … well … they were hoping for another kind of release for their Racing Sausage.

Looks like the Polish is about to get polished.
It kinda amazes me that no one’s done anything like this with Milwaukee’s Racing Sausages before. They’re kinda made for innuendo. If you’re unfamiliar with what a “Happy Ending” is … well, here.
Brewers Playoffs Happy Ending Shirt Rating:
- Cleverness: 10
- Originality: 10
- Understandability: 7
That shirt used to be available on the internet … but it’s hasta la bye-bye now. Something makes me wonder if the Brewers’ legal department had something to do with that.

The near future doesn’t look so bright for the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are very likely to set a very dubious sports record with an unprecedented 17th Consecutive Losing Season in 2009.
Beyond that, the long-term future doesn’t look so bright either – because today, a team loaded with the Pirates’ top prospects lost to Manatee Community College by a score of 6-4.
Let’s let that sink in.
The Pirates lost to MANATEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
Usually the Pirates wait until opening day to crush the hopes and dreams of their fans, but this year I guess they started a little early.
Oh the Huge Manatee!! (Get it? Oh the Humanity? Manatee? Oh forget it.)
Now mind you, this was a split squad game and no one from the Pirates 25-man roster was playing in the game. Just Minor League prospects. So it was basically a team of guys in the Pirates’ dirty laundry who lost.
But that’s still … simply put … just not acceptable.
But I have something that’s even less acceptable. Before this atrocity unfolded … Pirates fans were chirping about this game. So much that they made T-Shirts trumpeting the fact that they had beaten the Manatee CC squad ten years straight.
Let’s take a look at that T-Shirt. Front and Back.

With the return of baseball … it’s about time for Home Run Derby to bring back …. JERSEY OF THE WEEK!
For this JotW, we’re headed to Mesa, Arizona - where the Chicago Cubs are having their spring training …
One Cub fan apparently left his shirt in the dryer a little too long.

Seriously. That’s a women’s shirt isn’t it? Next time, just go shirtless, dude. See Milwaukee Brewers fans as an example. Or Philadelphia Phillies fans and their bodypaint (NSFW).
I’m really hoping that this guy lost a bet and he doesn’t like walking around in women’s clothing. Then again, he likes Mike’s Hard Lemonade in the can.

That’s the T-Shirt Hall of Shame. Wy is he wearing it?

This might be the best T-Shirt I have seen in a looong time.
Because Donuts and Bacon are indeed, taste we can believe in.
I hope the Obama campaign doesn’t shut him down for copyright infringement.

Yes, I just ordered one. And now I’m all hungry for breakfast, too.
You can get yours here.
I’m so mad I didn’t think of that. By the way, that might be the first post at HRD not related to baseball in any way.
