I think it’s safe to say that the Washington Nationals are by far and away the worst franchise in baseball right now.

They’ve had a enormous uniform FAIL, no one watches them on TV or at their stadium, they can’t spell Roosevelt, and that stupid Screech the eagle mascot is just embarrassing.

Not to mention that the team can’t perform ON the field either, where the Nats are currently a  Major-League worst 52-100.  That’s their second consecutive 100-Loss season.  Ugh. 

On that note, their fans seem to be taking it in stride. 

Here’s a Jersey some Nats fan (I think?) made before the 2008 season which looks like it will be good for years to come.

Simply awesome and well-played.  Self-deprecating jerseys always rule.

The only way it could be better is if it said NATINALS across the front.

Found the Jersey in a thread over on FARK.

So President Obama is a big fan of the Chicago White Sox.  

Or so he tells and shows us.  Over and Over.

Like last night during the All-Star game when he wore his White Sox jacket to throw out the first pitch (not so sure I liked that) and told Joe Buck and Tim “Corpse” McCarver he was a fan of the White Sox.

Not to mention a few times on the campaign trail last spring, summer, and fall.  And an interview on ESPN where he took a few digs at Cub fans.

But if he’s such a big White Sox fan, why doesn’t he know the name of their home stadium? 

Case in point:  President Obama referred the White Sox’ ballpark as ”Cominskey Field” during an interview on MLB TV with Bob Costas.  It used to be called Comiskey Park.

Oh boy.  That’s like calling the Cubs’ stadium “Wrigley Park” instead of “The World’s Largest Outdoor Bar.”   A White Sox fan would rip a new backside into any Cub fan who did that.

Even if he had said “Cominskey Park”, I could see it as a slip of the tongue.  But Cominskey FIELD?   Obama moved to Chicago in 1985.  Back when the old Comiskey Park was still around.

Earlier this year, I wondered how Brewers fans would react to Jeff Suppan Bobblehead day on August 30, 2009.

Yes, that Jeff Suppan … the Brewers pitcher who surrendered three Home Runs in three innings to the Phialdelphia Phillies in Game 4 of the 2008 NLDS. 

I didn’t have to wait until late August to find out.  Because Brewers fans would like to sell Suppan. With a Starting bid on eBay of a penny.

The seller will throw in Bill Hall for free.  What a bargain.

Gosh.  I wonder how much Brewers fans would pay someone to take David Bush off their hands.

UPDATE:  Bidding made it to $20.50 before eBay pulled it.

I wonder when Cubs fans will try this with Milton Bradley.

The Washington Nationals have gotten a lot of flack for their misspelling snafus lately (Natinals, anyone?) … but they aren’t the only Beltway team that can’t spell their own team’s name.

Oriloes?  Seriously?  Is there something in the water over there that causes baseball people to lose their ability to spell?

I would like to offer my services as a proofreader to any and all MLB teams who don’t want to look stupid anymore.

Fat, Drunk, and Stupid is no way to go through life. Even if you’re a Red Sox fan.

This can only be categorized as an EPIC FAIL.

Watch as this Red Sox chick tries to run across the field at Fenway Park …

I thought this was over when she took the header down the stairs … but no.

She didn’t even make it over the freakin’ wall! 
It’s easy for Fenway security to pick you off it you don’t even make them run.
