Beer and the Upper Deck of Yankee Stadium
Posted by: Richie Rich in Ballparks, Beer, Beer Vendors, Drunken Fans, YankeesWe don’t do a lot of posting about the Yankees or their fans here at Home Run Derby, but it’s high time that changed around here. Especially after the “New York Mets Fan Commercial Videos” post the other day.
I’ve yet to go to Yankee Stadium, but I’m told it’s filled with loud, potty-mouthed, beer-swilling fans who think they know a thing or two about baseball. Sounds like my kind of place. Cue the comments from rfm2 and his Yankee compatriots. Here’s one now.
Let’s go to Yankee Stadium and see the effect of beer on the Yankee Faithful. Invariably, You find the best fans in the cheapest seats. The drunkest, too … So let’s head to the Upper Deck of Yankee Stadium … and while we’re there, Let’s Sing!
Wow. I think those guys need more beer. But it looks like there’s no Beer Vendor in sight. It could be a while before somebody gets up there … is it time for … the Beer Run?
Better make it fast, buddy …
Wow, less than two minutes. Is it really that tough to get a frickin beer at Yankee Stadium?
But of course, while he was gone … the Beer Vendor came by. And he even provided a song with the suds.
I love Beer Vendors.

I don’t know Yankee Stadium too well - is Section 39 the best because it’s the one where the roof doesn’t fall in on you?

Rican-
I think you are confusing Yankee Stadium with Wrigley Field. I don’t see how that could happen though. Championships have actually be won at the Stadium…

D’oh! I hate typos.
should read “been won”, not “be won”

Well, technically the Marlins won the National League Championship at Wrigley in 2003, but of course we all know where they won The World Series that year…sorry, just had to say it.

I have never seen someone get owned as much as this. You lose rfm2. you lose just like the Yankees.

Let’s play nice children, I was only having a little fun. While what I said is true I highly doubt that the Marlins winning one World Series means anything compared to 26 rings. And I think Ray Fosse would say that he got owned slightly more.
