Cubs Celebrate Aramis Ramirez Home Run vs the Brewers

Since he hit that Two-Out, Two-Run, Walk-Off Home Run nearly three weeks ago, Aramis Ramirez has been putting up some nice stats while the Cubs have won 11 of 16 games.

  • .367 Batting Average
  • .377 On-Base Percentage
  • .531 Slugging Percentage
  • .908 OPS (On-Base plus Slugging)
  • 14 Runs Batted In
  • Seven Extra Base Hits
  • Only three Strikeouts in 49 At-Bats

However, he’s hit exactly zero Home Runs in that span.  He almost had one Monday night against the Giants, but it was only a game-winning two-run double.

Why no Home Runs?  Well, it’s tough to hit a Home Run when you’re worried about your taint being brutally violated when you get back to the dugout.

Well, today, according to ESPN, the Cubs traded their official taint-molester (Cezar Izturis) to the Pirates for a player to be named later.  Making the Cubs’ Dugout a safe haven for Home Run hitters.

Swing away, Aramis, Swing away.
