The Derby – Week 15 in Review (The Second Half begins)
Posted by: Richie Rich in The Derby
So we’ve entered the second half of our Home Run Derby contest and it looks like Triple Crown (287 HR) is going to try to what couldn’t be done last season …
The Home Run Derby Sweep. Finishing in First for the First Half, the Second Half, and of course, the Full Season. Incidentally, last year was the ONLY year there hasn’t been a Derby Sweep as the 2006 1st Half Champ (Jeter’s Gold Glove) lost the lead for good four weeks into the second half.
In his quest, Triple Crown will have to deal with Master-Batters (286 HR), who seem to be in lockstep with 3C the past few weeks.
Third Place is another matter, as Hackers did what they couldn’t do in the first half and knock The Great Hambino off the moneyboard.
The Second Half has begun with a bang with some fresh faces among the familiar names. After four days of action, Weis One and Hackers top the charts with 18 Home Runs. Right on their tails are 3-C and M-B with 17 HR.
The worst week of the first week of the Second Half went to … The Komodos, who seem to miss the bottom of the standings. Some things don’t change.
Eleven Weeks to go … let’s see if anyone notices anything special in this post.
