You know the problem with YouTube videos of thrilling moments from the ballgame that you turned down tickets to? They’re typically not edited well.
Wait – did I say “not edited well?” I meant to say not edited at ALL. Who wants to watch some slugger adjust himself between each pitch of a marathon at-bat? You know, don’t answer that.
They’re usually shot from a terrible angle behind some sweaty guy who you’ve just learned has tons of hair in his ear. And some of the videos are so wobbly and zoom in and out so fast that you’re in danger of triggering an epileptic seizure if you watch them.
This video of last Monday’s (6/25/07) Chicago Cubs ninth inning comeback over the Colorado Rockies has none of that. It’s taken from right field at Wrigley with great camera work and it’s edited fabulously with shots of bleacher fans, the dugout and the scoreboard … and it even has the TV audio spliced in for the key plays. And the tension builds with each at-bat with “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC … which is a fabulous touch.
Does YouTube have Emmys? Because this guy deserves one.

Thanks for the great feedback on the video. If you liked that one I have an equally fun but much shorter clip on YouTube as well that will satisfy your baseball thirst.

White Sox have been using “Thunderstruck” during their starting line up for years now.
