Phil and Triple Crown need a new dictionary … because he was using one with a bad definition of insurmountable.Â
As in “Triple Crown has an insurmountable lead.”

Well, Triple Crown did NOT have an insurmountable lead, as your new leader is your old leader … The Master-Batters (225 HR) regain control of the 2007 Home Run Derby leaderboard. Triple Crown falls into second place (223 HR) while The Great Hambino (215 HR) gets his third place spot back from Hackers (214 HR). There are six teams just out of third place.
This week’s high mark went to Empire of Dirt with 24 Home Runs. The worst peformance of the week went to El Guapos, who continue their free-fall with 8 measly Home Runs.

- Garret Atkins (3 HR) – Almost doubled his HRÂ from the previous 10 weeks.
- Alex Rodriguez (3 HR) – He’s on fire again.
- Justin Morneau (3 HR) – Third player to cross 20 HR.
- Ken Griffey, Jr (3 HR) – And somehow the Reds are still in last.
 Cold Sluggers (Nomar Zone):
- Nomar Garciaparra – One HR all season. The last uninjured StoneCutter.
- Jeff Francoeur – Only 3 HR the past 7 weeks
- Jacque Jones – The Twins knew what they were doing when they let him walk.
- Travis Hafner – Has only one multi-HR week this season. No HR the last 2 Weeks.
Injury Report:
- Aramis Ramirez (knee – DL) – Eligible to come off the DL for the White Sox series.
- Joe Crede (back – DL) – Might be done for the season.
- Torii Hunter (hand) – Questionable for Mets series.
- Jason Giambi (foot … in mouth – DL) – Out until at least mid-July.
- Mike Piazza (shoulder) – Still “on the DL” Ask his “wife.”
- Adrian Beltre (thumb) – Questionable for Pittsburgh series.
- Mark Teixeira (quad – DL) – Out till late June.
