A perfect game is so rare. If he’s going to buy liquor, he should shell out for Louis XIV, which run in the thousands per bottle. $200 bottle of whiskey is nothing!!

Not only is this cheap, but once you consume the booze, you only have a cheesy little bag as a souvenir. You need something way more valuable and permanent to commemorate this–a really nice watch or clock, platinum cufflinks. At the very least, Buehrle could have added some engraved crystal glassware to go along with the bottle.

How cheap can Mark Buehrle get? A $200 bottle of whisky??? That would have been good for the rest of the team, but Wise saved his ass. The catch he made is what put Buehrle’s name in the history book with only 17 others. Hell, $200? He makes more per pitch. Just kind of weak.

A gift is a gift. Wise was doing his job just as much as Buerhle was doing his. Usually players just give each other watches or something. I’ll take this any day of the week. Even in the middle of the season with a 1-5 record since the game. Something’s gotta get me through the losing.
