Home Run of the Day – 4/06/08 – Ken Griffey Jr.

That’s how long it had been since we last saw Ken Griffey Jr. hit a Home Run in a Seattle Uniform.

Leading off the top of the fifth inning in Minnesota, Griffey hit his 8th Opening Day Home Run (tying a record) to put the Mariners up 2-0.
Personally, Griffey just looks better in a Mariners uniform than a Reds kit.

With that swing, Jr looks great draped in Velvet like George Costanza!
It would look better with 1989 Seattle colors. I like those uniforms more than today.
I was so glad I was watching the Seattle at Minneeee-sooooooohhhh-tahhhhh game on Extra innings when he nailed it.
Taking notes for my blog post today was fun.
Too bad my father couldn’t have enjoyed this final opening day. He was a big fan of Jr.
And a Mets fan to boot.
