Did Queer Eye for the Straight Guy do a makeover for Roger Clemens lately?
Seven-time Cy Young winner and Mitchell Report namee Roger Clemens showed up at a Houston Rockets game last night. Wearing a hat I wouldn’t put on a dog.
Seriously – a pastel green and blue argyle baseball cap? Who the heck makes that anyway?
And what man would even consider wearing it?
I mean, besides Roger Clemens, obviously. I wonder if there’s an Erasure song (or five) on Clemens’ iPod.
Mind you, some Baseball teams think you’ll wear Argyle caps.
This one from the New York Yankees is actually pretty sharp.
Keeping the Bombers’ color scheme works really well on that cap.
The same cannot be said for the following monstrosities …
Why do teams sell caps that aren’t in their team colors? Yes – I know … it’s the money. I can understand a black or white cap with the logo on it. But that is simply wrong. Especially that rainbow … thing.
And before the Yankee fans rip on me for just pointing out the Yankees’ caps, here’s an abomination the Mets signed off on.
There are two teams that could conceivably get away with an Argyle cap as part of their uniform. The Red Sox and the White Sox. Get it? Argyle Sox? I think Boston’s deep Red/Blue color scheme would look pretty good. But you can’t find any.
Instead, you can get them in Black or Brown …
Ugh. Hideous. I did not just B/W that second hat. This is what they should look like.
Mind you, the White Sox seems to have this Argyle thing down.
But this one might take the cake.
How about a Crystal Argyle Cap to show your support for the St. Louis Cardinals?
$2,700 for a baseball cap? You can buy a season ticket at Busch Stadium for less than that.

All that fashion sense and all Clemons could score was a under age Country Singer. And John Daley’s hillbilly wife.
Atleast Chase Utley could land some HOT chics from Hollywood. Roger will always be a goofy looking goober from Texas that was NOT President of the United States or current President of the Rangers.

Kind of surprises me you’d be able to find those. Wonder if Cuba’s sports department gets royalties… seems like the whole “We don’t recognize you as a nation” think would prevent that…
