MLB Network Eye Candy: Hazel Mae and Trenni Kusnierek
Posted by: Richie Rich in Erin Andrews, MLB Network
On January 1, 2009, Major League Baseball will foray into 24/7 Television Coverage with the unveiling of the MLB Network.
MLB has lined up plenty of decent on-air talent, ranging from announcers (Matt Vasgersian and Victor Rojas), sportswriters (Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated) and a decent lineup of former players like Barry Larkin, Harold Reynolds, Dan Plesac, and Mitch Williams.
But who cares about that? Let’s talk about the MLB Network’s sideline eye candy – I mean sideline reporters.
In Hazel Mae and Trenni Kusnierek, the MLB Network seems to have deliberately tried to find a pair of opposites. One is from Toronto via the Phillipines, and the other is from Wisconsin. One wears tight shirts and plunging necklines while the other is much more chaste in her on-air attire.

By the way - who the heck allowed those headshots to make it to the MLB Network website? Seriously – those pics are terrible. If that’s the production quality we can expect from MLB Network, I won’t be watching much in 2009.
Anyway … here’s your photo profiles. Much better than the ones above.
Trenni Kusnierek
Representing the NL Central, Trenni Kusnierek is a Milwaukee area native, and most recently covered the Milwaukee Brewers for Fox Sports Net Wisconsin. Prior to her 2008 homecoming, Kusnierek covered the Pittsburgh Pirates for five years (2003-7) as well as other Pittsburgh sports teams for FSN Pittsburgh.
Kusnierek must be cold all the time … because she’s always doing her reporting while wearing long sleeves.
While in pittsburgh, she sassed it up a bit for a photoshoot/interview for the October-November 2007 edition of something called Maniac Magazine.

Back in August 2008, Kusnierek weighed in when ESPN’s sideline belle Erin Andrews wore a short skirt that raised eyebrows (among other things) before a Brewers-Cubs game at Miller Park.
“I understand that Erin Andrews isn’t considered a “journalist” so the same rules that apply to writers and television reporters, do not apply to her.
With that said, I still think reporters should hold themselves to the highest professional standard. I found her dress to be inappropriate for the workplace. Even some Brewers players said that although she’s great to look at, the dress wasn’t appropriate for the ballpark.”
So I don’t think we’ll see Kusnierek in that pink ensemble on MLB Network anytime soon.
By the way, if you don’t like Trenni and her long sleeve shirts … Prince Fielder has a message for you.

Hazel Mae
Red Sox Nation cried a collective tear last June when the resident hottie behind NESN’s SportsDesk announced she was leaving the Boston sports media.
Before that, she worked for Rogers Sportsnet, covering the Toronto Blue Jays. That’s a heck of a promotion – even if it means kissing Roger Clemens.

Not just content to sit behind the anchor desk, she’d also do interviews with Red sox personnel. Here’s Terry Francona and Jon Lester.

And Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino

She was a HUGE fan favorite in Boston, as evidenced by lots of fan pics out there …

She wears pink … a lot.

MMMM Beer.

In August, she was one of the first names announced by MLB to be part of the forthcoming MLB Network.

I wonder why MLB stole her away from the Red Sox?
Who is the better mascot - Stomper or TC Bear?
- Stomper (Oakland A's) (71%)
- TC Bear (Minnesota Twins) (29%)
Total Votes: 139
Mind you, I don’t think the ultra-hot Erin Andrews and Heidi Watney have anything to worry about from the MLB Network girls.

Hazel Mae Reminds me of Alyicia Layne. She was the co-anchor at KWY CBS 3 Philly. Her co-host was the dude that hacked into her e-mail. Here is her pics:
As for Trenni in long sleeves. She is a native of the Badger state, and well it is not all that balmy. While folks think of cold with Boston that body of water the city sits by like NY keeps it warmer than Beercity.
Trenni is very knowledgeable with sports according to a story from Beercity last year.
That story is linked here:
Basicly they portray her as the sexier Suzy Colber minus a drunk Joe Willy making the moves on her live on TV. And I have to admit I thought she was hotter than Hazel Mae (ATF kind of name is that? Sounds like a name from 1917) even in a saggy brown dress. That dress in the MLB network preview ads they ran December 31st Trenni looked like she was a Nun.
And from seeing her in her outfits for Brewers games, aside from the red pumps that shoe her toes for foot fetish freaks. She has that Soccer Mom going to Starbucks for a Carmel Macchiato look. And to be honest with all the Escort looking eye candy on cable sports Trenni is hot for looking like the kind of chic real guys might date.
And to be honest if the network wants some hottie who can read the prepared rambles from a telepromter, or remeber it for a live sideline shoot. I would hire Thea Andrews the only reason I use to watch “Cold Pizza”. (By the fall of 2004 I was tired of Kitt Hoover and the big teeth guy.)
While Thea is Canadian like Hazel Mae (That name also sounds like a charecter from a W.C. Fields flick.) Thea played a sports reporter once as did Sarah Palin. Diffrent ways to “play” the part. lol
Thea also was decent with her sports knowledge and was so hot she didn’t have to dress like a crack whore working a city corner at 2am as some of these “reporters” do to make up for their lack of knowledge.
And in closing I’d love to point out two things. The MLB network has Mitch Williams and Dan Plesac on the staff. Both worked in the Phillies bullpen at the Vet. Pleasac for trivia buffs was the LAST pitcher on the mound in Phillies history at the vet. That same day the Phillies last out was a kid most never heard of named Chase F’n Utley. The day before Utley got the last Phillies walk off RBI in extra innings as well.

Hazel is the bomb and Red Sox Nation’s loss is MLB Networks gain. It appears that all of the photos you found for Hazel were in her last few years with NESN, not her first few. If they were of the earlier days there would be two fairly impressive things missing. Hazel took advantage of the fantastic medical facilities in Boston one off season to get a quick medical procedure done….if ya know what I mean.

Makes me like Trenni WAAAYYY more. I’m very anti-implants.
I’m all about Natural, I drink organic milk and prefer the natural mammaries!
Then again I made a fuss about Thea and I’m unsure if those are hers.
But Thea’s draw for me is that perfect face.
I wonder if she had a Red Bra during Red Sox games.

Not to troll this post, but I have a MLB question wonder if the crew at this site can answer.
Will MLB be avialable as part of the “Best of XM’ for us with Sirius?
I have a long contract with Sirius, and am a Miamio Dolphins fan in between the Philly and NYC media markets. Needless to say I use my Sirius all NFL regular season.
I recently moved to a area void of terrestrial broadcasts of Phillies games. On good nights I can pull in the big talker from Philly but it comes and goes. Most of the regualr season tPhillies are on cable here with Comcast sportsnet. BUT many network games (Sundays) are lost if the Yankees have a network game since Scranton PA is a Yankee loving city.
I’d love to get MLB on Sirius not just for Harry Kalas and LA Larry Anderson, BUT I would love to listen to AL games that are not the Yankees and the west coast as well.
Could you guys write about MLB on Sat radio. Thanks love the blog. I link it from mine even though I mostly write about politics and government.

Mae and Kusnierek have careers PRECISELY because they provide eye candy for the average man watching MLB.
Do either offer anything remotely resembling insight about the game? Or individual players? Or the season at hand? Or anything else? Is either a first-rate, penetrating reporter? Come on.
Don’t get me wrong; I like to watch M & K as much as any other straight guy. It is most pleasant to receive the latest baseball news from sources so pleasant to gaze upon:).
But let’s not fool ourselves into believing that K & M are on MLB for any other reason.

I jerkoff to Hazel Mae’s feet

I will add only that in my seven-odd months of watching MLB, I’ve yet to see Mae on camera wearing an outfit with a “plunging neckline,” despite a couple of the pix here –
