Ryan Howard can catch a beer can
Posted by: Richie Rich in 2008 MLB Playoffs, Beer, Drunken Fans, Great Catch, PhilliesPhiladelphia Phillies 1st Baseman Ryan Howard is known more for his bat than his glove.
Consider that in 2008, Howard led the Major Leagues in Home Runs (48) and RBI (146) while he finished last in Fielding Percentage among First Basemen (.988 with 19 Errors).
But that Fielding Percentage would be a lot higher if baseball was played with a beer can instead of a ball ….

During the Phillies World Series Championship parade, our friends at Big League Stew found proof that Howard can catch … a flying can of beer.
Watch the video after the jump …
And here’s a another shot of that …. skip to the 50 second mark.
That is awesome. That’s worthy of a Stone Cold Steve Austin comparison.
You see, it’s all about motivation.
Small White Ball … “Meh.”
12 Ounce Beer Can … “I GOT IT !!”
Mind you, I’d like to see if he could catch a Vodka bottle. Because Philly fans can REALLY chuck bottles of Grey Goose.
Big League Hat Tip to Big League Stew.

From the looks of Ryan Howard it also appears he can catch a sandwich, a candy bar, etc.
In all reality, his fielding issue has more to do with throwing the ball than catching it.

He was ever so casual in the catch, too. Like he does it all the time.
