MLB Mascot Brackets – Phillie Phanatic vs Southpaw

We’re going to start off with a matchup from the Furrie Divison, with the #1 Seed matched up against another green mascot who was granted new life in the tournament.
#1 – Philly Phanatic (Phillies) vs #7 – Southpaw (White Sox)
Without a doubt, baseball’s reigning king of between-innings hijinks roosts in Philadelphia. The Phillie Phanatic defeated Wally the Green Monster in the First Round of the Mascot Tournament.
His skits, ranging from boxing palookas or seducing umpires are often seen on Sportscenter and all the best Philly baseball blogs.
Not to mention that he’s a huge hit with the ladies. Here he is with freakin’ Miss America 2006 and some of the Diamondbacks girls.
Heck, the Phanatic’s even skilled in The Force. Or is that The Phorce? Either way, here he takes out Darth Vader on Star Wars Night.
Southpaw actually lost in the first round to Raymond of the Tampa Bay Rays, but since Gapper and Slider couldn’t defeat Death … neither of those sucktastic furballs moved on. Southpaw steps in because he had the most votes of any losing mascot in the 1st Round. I know you wanted to see Death move on, but it’s not gonna happen.
Southpaw doesn’t do much in skits on the South Side of Chicago (at least that I’ve sever seen at the Cell). He mostly shakes hands, hugs kids, walks in parades, and makes appearances around Chicagoland.
Mind you, Southpaw has something the Phanatic doesn’t have …
A freakin’ World Series Ring. And it looks like he got hitched, too.
Southpaw totally outkicked his coverage there. I’m not so sure that girl is looking forward to her honeymoon night.

I’m a Chicago native yet can’t find it within me to vote for Southpaw. I’m with Tartan69 though I wonder what the 69 means. Phanatic should be a final-four mascot.

69 was my college football jersey number, not a reference to the sexual position. Although it did act as a great opening line with chicks. Now its just ironic.
