It’s been a while since there’s been a decent CWDTLB post, so let’s knock one out right now … actually, let’s set up a whole new category at Home Run Derby – Baseball Cheerleaders.
There’s no room for cheerleading in baseball? Well – that’s where you’re wrong – because there are at least 16 natural breaks in a baseball game, and you can only watch a variation of a Dot Race on the Jumbotron so many times.
And more importantly, because there are at least seven MLB teams who have some form of cheerleaders on the payroll. Just because we’ve been on the Cardinals’ case lately … let’s start with …
Whoa. Where were these ladies during the World Series telecasts? I think more people might have watched if the TV cameras would ever point in their direction.
According to the Cardinals’ website, they’ve been around since 1995. Who knew St Louis has so many otherwise out of work models running around? And that they’d be named after a mascot?
It sounds like Team Fredbird girls walk around the ballpark, hanging out with celebrities and just looking hot for most of the game until they go out on the field and launch T-Shirts, towels, or cups into the crowd during the 7th inning stretch.
I’m told that sometimes they go out and dance – but there’s no photographic evidence of it anywhere.
When the team’s on the road, they’re paid to hang out at some place called Hotshots Bar and Grill, the squad’s sponsor.
In closing. Team Fredbird – a good looking Dance/Promotions Team with a stupid team name.

I would have much rather seen Team Fredbird in HiDef during the breaks of the NLCS and WS telecasts than the mystrious blister on Albert Pujols’ Lip, quite possibly a gift from one of the girls on the team….

Someone over at Digg.com threw this at Team Fredbird – said he circled the ugly girls in Team Fredbird …

10 Fredbirds? The rounded up every good looking woman in St. Louis and still had to find 10 women to round out the squad..

Nick:
Hi-larious.
You have GOT to be kidding. Clearly, you’ve never been to St. Louis.
But then I suppose you don’t have the time, what with the constant attention required by your supermodel girlfriend.

To be on Team Fredbird you have to be atleast 21 and you have to have atleast 6 or 7 years of dance experience. Also being attractive and thin helps lol

But there are some exceptions.
My friend Amanda is on Team fredbird and she’s not 21 but she’s been dancing for like 8 years.

They aren’t having anymore try outs for a few seasons because there are SO MANY girls who try out they don’t need anymore.
March 25th, 2009 at 12:03 am
That is not true. They are holding interviews soon. Their deadline for resumes was this past week. I just spoke with them. I do not know how many girls are trying out or anything, but I do know they are hiring. I dont know where you got your information from, but it is incorrect.
March 29th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
Oh really? My friend Amanda use to be on Team Fredbird and she said they have hundreds of girls try out each year and they only end up picking one or two each season because that’s all they need.

I tried out for team fred bird back in 97, and there were a ton of girls who tried out. Then they only picked 5 girls, 3 of whom were rams cheerleaders and 2 who were professional soccer cheerleaders..So yes, you have to be a little bit on the up scale to make it and have some experience.
