Home Run of the Day - 3/31 - Kosuke Fukudome
Posted by: Richie Rich in 2008 MLB, Brewers, Cubs, GROUP E, Home Run of the Day, Kosuke FukudomeUnfortunately, it was in a losing effort for the Cubs, but nothing anyone else hit yesterday can beat Kosuke Fukudome’s game-tying Home Run in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Brewers.
I was at the Cubs’ home opener yesterday and Fukudome’s eye at the plate is everything it was advertised to be. The first pitch he saw he hammered for a double, followed by a walk, a single and that blast.
By the way, Brent Musburger did a fine job announcing baseball.
Thanks to Awful Announcing for the original clip … which MLB already took down. I replaced it with a view from the section next to mine.

New Rule. Homer of the Day can’t be from the team that LOST. Quit being such a “homer” with your homer picks.

Sometimes Home Runs overshadow the team’s performance.
Just ask ESPN.
Seeing as it was Fukudome’s debut, I went with it.

Hey Greek -
What was a better Home Run of the Day yesterday then?

I would have to say we should go back to Sunday and Ryan Zimmerman’s walk off to open the Nationals stadium. Technically not yesterday, but it was the best Home Run of Opening Day.
