We here at Home Run Derby are big fans of the Milwaukee Brewers’ Racing Sausages (sponsored by Klement’s - we’re big fans of them too … Yum!)

• We seeded the Sausages #1 in our MLB Mascot Brackets (Round Two starts up next week)
• We exposed all the Sausage rip-offs around MLB
• We showed you the Sausages without their heads

But we had no idea they were so talented.  Because they can ski. 

Back on March 2, 2008, the Sausages were part of Wilmot Mountain’s Annual Winter Carnival.

For those of you who haven’t updated your Internet Explorer or Windows media files, here’s a YouTube version - it’s not as good …

Looked to me like the Polish Sausage totally shredded that downhill.  Mind you, I’m just surpised Chorizo didn’t face plant with that big honking sombrero. 

That’s just impressive.  As a former collegiate mascot, I can tell you that it’s tough enough to just walk around in a 6′6″ costume without stepping on a bunch of grade-schoolers.  Let alone ski down a mountain. 

Next, the Sausages compete to get some Big Air.  While the Italian Sausage showed off some moves he must have learned in the Alps, the Bratwurst didn’t fare quite as well.  

They even did pretty well taking the moguls in a classic Fire Hose Race.  Okay … maybe not.

That was just comical … and more of what I expected from eight foot sausages on skis.

I think he’s waiting for a bun.

Let’s see those Racing Sausage Rip-Offs do that!  Yeah, I’m talking about you … you Pierogies and Presidents.
