i think its a little much, condemning people who are just participating in something that is a custom in their own country. I recently photographed a cockfight in Bali, Indonesia (you can see the photographs at http://www.ericisaac.com/balicockfight/ ) and while I find it disgusting, it was definitely something I can respect as a part of their culture. In that way I found it very beautiful.

I dont see a problem with cock fighting. Its just a part of history, all these people that say they are against cock fighting need to see what these animals do in the wild. Certain Breeds of these birds were just made to fight.
Also i think the Humane Society and organizations like PETA are ruining america. They made cock fighting illegal in many states, How long before hunting is illegal, then it will eventually get to the point where it will be illegal to have a animal in a cage.
i think there are alot bigger problems to deal with besides worrying about a bunch of birds fighting. Why doesnt the gov. stop wasting its time chasing cockers, and try to solve some murders, or try to find a way to stop the war. People are dyeing overseas to protect are freedoms, but organizations such as PETA are trying to take them away.
C’mon, the people in those organizations would watch a person die rather than an animal, and if you ask me i think they may have alot of free time on their hippie hands if they have nothing better to do than bitch about birds fighting. Alot of cockfights are just as humane as slaughtering companies are. If we continue to let organizations like PETA run america it will be illegal to consume meat, and all of america will be vegan.

The first cock fight I attended was in PANAMA while serving our beloved country. I had a blast and many of you are right it is a sport and a sport with a long long history, especially in United States. Do not pass judgement on others unless one wants to be judged.
